With "game texting," viewers will be able to take part in this new interactive programming initially during the network's Monday prime time casino programming and at a later date, play along with GSN's game and reality shows. GSN will debut the new interactive technology this summer. When launched, viewers of GSN's Monday night casino programming will be able to engage in this advanced interactivity during HIGH STAKES POKER and WORLD SERIES OF BLACKJACK. Additional GSN game shows and reality series utilizing 'game texting' will subsequently roll out. HIGH STAKES POKER viewers will be offered a series of cards on their TV screens and can accept cards via SMS messaging to try to create the best possible hand. WORLD SERIES OF BLACKJACK players will have the opportunity to play against the on-screen dealer by requesting cards to their mobile phones and attempting to hit "21." Players of both games will compete against other mobile contestants in real-time. Top 10 players will have their user names appear on leader boards on-screen. The Simcast(TM) graphics provide innovative advertising opportunities for viewers to interact directly with brands as part of the game. Advertisers can be easily integrated in the program with on-screen messaging through a unique layering system. Chris Raleigh, Senior Vice President of Ad Sales, GSN, said: "'Game texting' promises to be a valuable new interactive TV platform in the U.S. enabling advertisers to benefit from both integration in our programs and viewer participation with a brand. Our ability to deliver ROI metrics from a third party is an additional feature. Two Way TV's Simcast technology allows us to deepen the advertiser's relationship with consumers by extending the interactive experience through commercials and into the program on the screen. Advertisers will also receive immediate feedback as viewers interact via SMS." Regarding Two Way TV's ground-breaking interactivity, John P. Roberts, Senior Vice President of Digital Media and Interactive Entertainment, stated: "Two Way TV takes our play-along interactivity to the next level. With 'game texting' every viewer at home can easily participate in our casino programming by using their cell phones. This opens the doors to new opportunities in enhanced television and we're pleased to be the first to be deploying it in the United States. There are now three ways for GSN viewers to interact and engage. They can play-along with our two-screen interactivity, through our participation TV programming block and 'game texting' on cell phones."
